Do you have a couple of pics for me (us) to show us your favourites?
Something like this?

I've been a tad reluctant to post pictures of women wearing watches in this style, because it seems the majority of the users prefer something entirely different!

Each to their own, and thank God for that. But how about this: let's "occupy" this thread, and post our favorite "classy" watches! I'm just gonna finish my "Princess Madeleine spam attack first, and I'll get to work
Here's the first, albeit a repost, but a beautiful photo of a beautiful woman wearing a beautiful watch:
Rebecca Hall:
Rachel McAdams:
Aishwarya Ray (repost, but obligatory - click it!!):

Also in the Deepika-thread:
The Tissot Classic Prince aka the "Banana-watch". The design is almost 100 years old, but for me, this particular style (oblong curved case, leather strap, art deco dial) is the ultimate high. Guess that's why I love watches like the Tank Americaine, Fiaba, Hampton and of course vintage watches like Gruen. Unfortunately you don't see many "ordinary" women wearing this style today, or even in the high society. It has to look expensive and flashy, and while I like the current trend of "bigger is better" I still prefer the classic, discrete and timeless design.
In the 60's Cartier had a few watches made by Bueche Girod, one of them was a "banana-style". They are extremely scarce, but I found one up for sale here:

It is perhaps the most beautiful watch I've ever seen. It's sleeker and thinner than the current Americaine, which makes it stand out, hope you approve. Original pics are HUGE so click the link to view this beauty in original size.
And finally, a link to my post in this thread:

Doesn't get much better than that

A funny thing about square/rectangular watches like the Tanks and the Bananas: they used to be men's watches!
Back in the days, ladies watches usually looked something like this:
... whereas men's watches - apart from round case models - looked like this:
During the 60's women began to adopt the tank style watch, most famously Jackie Kennedy, and it has since been a classic style for ladies. Men on the other hand, went for bigger and more masculine watches. As an example, the Submariner dates back to the mid-50's and became a very popluar style because of Sean Connery wearing it as 007.
And today, well... men's watches can look like this:
... and ladies watches can look like this:
Funny, actually.
